The 5th annual Landscape Lighting Conference is scheduled for Feb. 6 at a new location, Teatro Conference and Event Centre, 121 Chisholm Dr., in Milton.

Located right off Highway 401, it will provide more space for this growing event, as well as an excellent catering team; lunch is included as part of the day.

Landscape Ontario’s Landscape Lighting Sector Group is the host and volunteers have worked hard to ensure the content for the day will be geared to the seasoned contractor, and not just for beginners. Several exhibitors will have their products on display, taking advantage of the opportunity to showcase new products for the coming season.

Outdoor Lighting Design - Setting Yourself Apart From The Pack will be the keynote delivered by Indianapolis’s Tim Ryan. He will highlight the key functions in outdoor lighting design, and how to achieve remarkable results in design through proper lamp choices and proper fixture placement.

Ryan owned and operated a landscape/hardscape company in Boise, Idaho for a number of years, before realizing his passion for the lighting industry. He began incorporating lighting into his landscape designs almost 18 years ago and made the jump to a lighting company in 2004. Today, he operates an outdoor lighting design and installation firm in Indianapolis, Ind. He is also the lighting instructor for a large outdoor lighting franchise company in the U.S., teaching those new to the industry the ins and outs of lighting design and running a successful lighting company. Ryan is also a consultant for a prominent lighting manufacturer in the U.S., and specializes in both large commercial and residential lighting applications.

The popular round-table discussions are back. The conference will also feature Proper Wiring Techniques, LED Applications and Power Systems as the 2014 round-table topics.

Tickets are $90 for LO members and $110 for non-members until Jan. 27. Registration and more details available at www.lightingconference.ca.
